Create content (Pages or Posts)
You have two options to create content (text / images / videos etc.). You can either create a Pages or a Posts. The basic principles to do that are the same. The difference later is just that you have to connect your Posts with Categories, we will show you that in the next step.
Tip
In step 4 we switched to Text. We did this, because it is very likely that you will write your text in the first place in a Text Editor like Microsoft Word. By that you would paste as well Microsoft HTML settings to your page, what is not recommendable.
- Click left side Pages (or Post) → Add New
- Set a headline like Hello World.
- Copy some demo text (Lorem Ipsum) from here.
- Switch right side to Text / Visual --> Select Text.
- Paste demo text.
- Click right side Preview to view the page as your visitors will
- Click Publish to save the page.
- Click View Post
- Click left side Pages (or Post) → Add New
- Set a headline like Hello World.
- Copy some demo text (Lorem Ipsum) from here.
- Switch right side to Text / Visual --> Select Text.
- Paste demo text.
- Click right side Preview to view the page as your visitors will
- Click Publish to save the page.
- Click View Post
Create categories
Let’s say you have a blog with different topics, like Sport and Politics. At this moment you should give your reader the option to choose if he/she wants to read something about Sport or Politics – right? You can manage that with categories, so let's see how you can do that:
- Click left side Posts --> Categories.
- Let’s set first category Sport
- And in slug we place Sport as well.
- Click Add Category.
- Let’s repeat steps 2 and three and create another category and call it Soccer.
- Now we use parent and place Soccer below Sport.
- Let’s repeat steps 2, 3, and 4 to create another category, let’s call it Politics.
- Click left side on Edit to make changes in an existing categories like change name or parent.
- Click View to see category content.
- When you now write a post, latest FIFA scandals you can connect this post either with Soccer, or Politics, or even both.
- Click left side Posts --> Categories.
- Let’s set first category Sport

WordPress Menus
After you create a Page or Post you have to connect it with a Menu to make it accessible for your page visitors. You can create as many menus as you like and choose which one to display on frontend. Follow these steps to make it work:
- Click left side Appearance → Menus
- If you want to add a page to the menu you will find it left side in the Pages section
- Activate the page and click on Add to Menu.
- For Posts, you have to look left side in Categories section and click on Add to Menu.
- Once you add a Category to a menu all further posts with the same category will be published.
- Finally, you can place the page or category by drag and drop where you need it. By this, you can create of course as well Sub and Sub-Sub menus
- Click left side Appearance → Menus
